K Street is proud to announce that Karen J. Kominsky, director of government affairs at K Street, has been selected by NJBIZ for its 2013 list of “New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business.”
Each year, NJBIZ identifies "New Jersey's most dynamic and distinguished women in business,” based on their professional accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women. Kominsky and her fellow 2013 honorees will be saluted on March 21, 2013 at an awards ceremony and reception at The Palace at Somerset Park, in Somerset, NJ. Kominsky is a public affairs professional with more than 20 years experience in both the public and private sectors. Before joining Wolff & Samson Public Affairs, she worked as a consultant specializing in government affairs, strategic communications and grassroots advocacy with the firm she founded, the ADV Group, LLC. Previously, Kominsky served as deputy chief of staff in the Office of the Governor, State of New Jersey, for Governor Richard J. Codey and Governor James E. McGreevey, and as deputy commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Prior to these positions, Kominsky was president of the Public Affairs Management Group and before that she was a partner with the GluckShaw Group. Among the many civic roles she has held, Kominsky was acting chair of the NJ Building Authority, state director of the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign in New Jersey, a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in August 2008, deputy vice-chair of the New Jersey State Democratic Party from 2001 to 2006, a New Jersey representative for President Clinton to the Electoral College, and an appointed member on the New Jersey Real Estate Commission in 2006.
A licensed professional planner, Kominsky is a graduate of Douglass College - Rutgers University and received her Masters of City and Regional Planning from the Bloustein School at Rutgers University
